LifeScience Vienna Muthgasse
The new research complex LifeScience Vienna Muthgasse (BOKU BioTech I) was built between 2007 and 2010 on a part of the former Austrian Federal Railways site. The project development was carried out by a consortium consisting of BAI Bauträger Austria Immobilien, STRAUSS & PARTNER Development, WSE Wiener Stadtentwicklungsgesellschaft and the Wiener Städtische Versicherung AG Vienna Insurance Group. The laboratory and office building, with facilities for research and development, was designed as an L-shaped structure. Building A (BOKU-VIBT) serves as an extension of the teaching and research facilities of the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU). Building B offers a home to tenants including international companies such as the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology as well as small industry-related corporate spin-offs.
